Unconditional Love
That's the love we all want. Most people are unfamiliar with the concept and honestly, don't believe it exists. I get that. I am a mother, though, and I dare you to name one thing that your child could to do make you not love them. To take all that love back and not love them. I'll wait while you think about it. You can't. I certainly can't. Now...apply that to people you know. Just because they aren't here or you have a falling out or whatever happens...does that cancel the love? Failed marriages...does that cancel the love? If it does, then the love was never there, to begin with. To me, unconditional love means loving someone for who exactly they are, in all their glory....and in all the ways they feel worthless or immaterial. It's about reminding them of what makes their soul beautiful when they forget. It's easy to love someone at their best, but to remind them of their worth when they are feeling worthless...that is love.
