Restroom Revelations

Dear Men, You know what it is...Women aren't any more or less angry than they ever have been. It's just that there's an avenue for being heard now. They call it the change for a lot of reasons, and it's not just a change in your body, it's a change in the mindset too. Our whole lives are changing with kids moving out, husbands retiring, downsizing, parents dying, and our own health issues. Women in their 40's and 50's are sick of everybody's shit. We spent the last 20+ years of our lives taking care of the kids, the house, and everything else. We've eaten the burnt toast and sacrificed everything for the sake of the Family. Given a choice, most women would choose the same thing all over again, so don't get it twisted. It's our turn now, and we aren't afraid to claim it. We earned the right to come first in our lives, and yours too. What we don't need is your retired ass telling us how we can save a dime on the grocery bill. We have ...

 I have spent the last 2 days installing and trying to troubleshoot a printer. That is just plain humiliating at my age. Seriously.  I knew it was working, but I couldn't make it talk to my computer more than once. I'm still not sure what exactly went wrong, but I went with the whole standby when you geet stuck like that, I uninstalled it and reinstalled it.  That seemed to fix the problem. I hope.   The cool thing is, I get 8 months of free ink.  TWO days, though. Sigh.

 There's a ditch behind my house.  It seems to be a congregation spot for the kids in the neighborhood. The ditch represents adventure and invented games. The portion of my side of the ditch is marked as "safe". It's good to see that kids go outside and use their imaginations still. The boys come and they hunker down in a circle with a stick and they map their plans out.. Their war table. The girls come and they giggle about the boys. They walk and they dream and they talk. But still, in my yard, it's the safe zone. The boys and the girls respect that. The boys don't bother the girls, and the girls don't bother the boys.  It's going to be interesting watching that for the next few years.
